Kumho Tire Off-Road Racing – “Our Future is so bright that we need to wear shades!!”

2006 marked KUMHO Tires 6^th year of very active involvement, and was a banner year for KUMHO Tire, in the world of off-road racing. The lists of “firsts” include;

FIRST Desert Class win – Scott Douglas, Terrible 400
FIRST Pro4 class win in CORR – Scott Douglas
FIRST “Borg Warner Cup Championship”- Scott Douglas dominated this race so bad that the second place truck may still be running.
FIRST “Jason Baldwin $66,000 Memorial Cup Race” won by Mike Oberg
FIRST Pro4 Crandon World Champion – Scott Douglas
FIRST ProLite Class Championship – “the Boss Man himself – Chad Hord”
FIRST Lite Buggy Class Championship – Craig Metz
FIRST Lite Buggy Crandon World Champion – ditto Craig Metz
FIRST Stock Truck Crandon World Champion – Keith Steele
SECOND Stock Truck Class Championship – Keith Steele has OWNED the Stock Truck class since switching to KUMHO Tires in 2004.

2007 is a marquee year for the sport of short course off-road racing. For the first time the sport will feature not one, but two well financed sanction bodies. Championship Off-Road Racing continues to run and will be primarily a west coast race circuit. Their 2007 race schedule features 5 events scattered through the vastly populated lower California basin, with trips to Dallas and Las Vegas added at the end of the season. A new sanction body will dominate the Midwest action.

World Series of Off-Road Racing will feature 7 action packed weekends with four events featuring two of the sports marquee tracks, the very fast Bark River, Mi facility, and the Grand daddy of them all, Crandon International Off-Road Raceway. Visits to Minnesota, Missouri, and Michigan’s lower peninsula complete the first year schedule of venues from the new upstart World Series. Both series will continue to offer fans and TV audiences alike the one-of-a –kind action packed racing that only these racers can provide.

KUMHO Tires will be an active participant with both series, taking advantage of the excellent opportunity to increase brand awareness and show off the technical superiority and rock-hard durability of our products. KUMHO Tire LTR and PCR products, the exact same products that the consumer can buy off the dealer’s show room floor, are put through tumulus torture from green to checkered flag in every minute of every off-road race.
