Kumho Celebrates Milestone with 100 Wins in Off Road Racing
Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., August 9, 2009— When Kumho Tires gave the directive to begin a motorsports program in 1992 for North America, it had a clear goal of showing technical capabilities, advanced manufacturing processes, as well as showing the consumer that to be a leader in the industry you must prove your products in the most demanding conditions. Motorsports offers the forum to do that on a daily basis, and it has paid off for the company that is relatively new to the United States market.
Today, Kumho Tires will add another chapter to the global motorsports efforts which include numerous track records, multiple national championships, as well as a win at the famed 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2007. Kumho is proud to announce it has achieved 100 wins in professional off-road racing at the legendary Bark River International Raceway. Keith Steele took the checkered flag for Kumho Tires/Monster Energy in the Limited 2WD/Limited 4X4 class at the latest round of the Traxxas TORC Series presented by Amsoil.

Currently Kumho Tires participates in racing around the world with a dedicated staff of engineers from the R&D center located in South Korea. The United States motorsports department is headquartered at the Kumho America Technical Center in Akron, Ohio. The Technical Center is the hub of motorsports for Kumho Tires USA, which service various events across the country on any given weekend. Not one to rest on past laurels, Kumho Tires is hard at work to ensure that the success continues and there is an opportunity to make history again in the future.
