Kumho Returns to Bark River for Latest Rounds of Off Road Racing
Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., August 7, 2009— The Traxxas TORC Truck Series presented by Amsoil has once again converged on Bark River International Raceway for the latest rounds of exciting action in off road racing. The series returns only weeks after a spectacular weekend that had some of the closest racing to date.
In the PRO Light class Traxxas driver Jeff Kincaid and Kumho Tire/Boss Snowplow's Chad Hord are tied for first in points. Chris Brandt is a close seven points behind the veteran drivers, but has only a narrow lead on Monster Energy driver Casey Currie. One thing is for sure; the race for the PRO Light Championship is going to be a wild ride!
The PRO 2 WD points race is equally as tight with Kumho Tire/Red Bull's Ricky Johnson only one point ahead of Rockstar driver Rob MacCachren. Both Johnson and MacCachren have been very consistent, both only having one finish outside of the top ten. Don't count out the rest of the top five, Todd LeDuc, Scott Taylor, and Jeremy McGrath have all been front runners this season and are very hungry for a championship.
PRO 4x4 Kumho driver Scott Douglas is eager to return to the podium after finishing 2nd to Johnny Greaves just weeks ago. Douglas and the Kumho Tire Super Team need to keep the momentum up to continue the chase for the championship with half the season in the books. Steve Barlow and the Kumho Tire/Red Bull Team have been consistent with solid finishes but not able to string together enough luck to put it on the podium thus far.
Bark River will certainly separate the best from the rest as the season draws closer the finale in Las Vegas. With only a few points difference in the standings the action will be intense.
