Robert Stout Secures NASA Regional Championship on Kumho Tires
Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., September 15, 2009—The Kumho team of Ken Stout Racing with Robert Stout wheeling the Lucas Oil backed Pro-Challenge TRAXXAS Charger proved what they were made of as they rebounded from a nasty wreck at Mid-Ohio with a win. Three weeks after wiping out the front of the Charger in a wreck, Robert Stout and the gang showed up at Gingerman with a new set of E3 Spark Plugs and Kumho Tires to lock up two NASA Regional Championships. Robert qualified on the pole and won the race, in the process he earned enough points to lock up both the Mid-West and Great Lakes Regional Championships. Robert said “That was the short term goal and now it’s time for the main goal, a National Championship”.
Robert said “Peter, Bill and dad all jumped on this thing the day we got back from Mid-Ohio. It took them three weeks and $10,000 to put an entire front clip on the car but I really think it might be even better than it was. Pete and Bill from Cozzolino Motorsports have saved us twice this year. With out them we would never have been able to do this”.
The team loaded up the car at 10 PM and headed for Michigan, Peter Cozzolino flew in to make sure everything worked out. Ken Stout said “We worked on it till 10 last night, got here at 4:30 AM, slept for 2 hours and rolled it out of the box. The car was perfect in the first session. What a testament to Pete and Bill they really know their stuff".
The Lucas Oil team packed up Saturday night and headed out for Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah with hopes of winning the NASA National Championships!
